Letter To All Interested Parties Explaining Why We Changed Our Name From
“Trade And Grow Rich” To “Trade Your Way To Wealth” –
And Why That Will Turn
Into A Huge Benefit For You…

Dear Friends Of Trade And
Grow Rich:
On July 7, 2005, I
received a letter in the mail – one that I have been expecting (and dreading a
little bit) for quite some time.
The letter was from the
Napoleon Hill Foundation. And the writer of the letter was the foundation’s
attorney.
The purpose of the letter
was basically a “cease and desist” request from the foundation. Their attorney
claimed that the foundation owned in essence all variations of the phrase “Think
And Grow Rich”, and that I was in trademark violation by using the phrase “Trade
And Grow Rich” in my website and company name.
I had actually expected this
letter, or something similar, for quite some time. You see, I’m the type of
person who “asks for forgiveness, and not for permission” in most of my actions.
At first, I was troubled by
the letter. After all, we have expended tremendous time and energy in getting
Trade And Grow Rich off the ground.
I thought for awhile about
fighting the action, because I felt I had a fairly good case of my
own.
But after reflection, it
dawned on me that this could turn out to be a huge benefit to lots of people. I
decided to heed Napoleon Hill’s own philosophy of “Every adversity contains the
seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
So I decided to call the
attorney and explore various options in seeking a win-win-win scenario for
everyone. After playing “phone tag” for a few days, I finally contacted the
attorney by phone.
He turned out to be one of
the nicest persons I’ve ever spoken to. But he had his job to do – which was to
ask me to rename the website and my company to something other than Trade And
Grow Rich.
The more we talked, the more
rapport we built with each other. He soon recognized that I was not like some of
the other dozens of individuals and companies trying to “rip off” the Think And
Grow Rich name. In fact, he saw that I was trying to do just the opposite – to
expose the Think And Grow Rich philosophy to a new generation of people who had
not been aware of it before now.
He explained some of the
future plans for the Napoleon Hill Foundation, and that they were contacting not
just my company, but all others with “___ And Grow Rich” in their titles in
order to protect their good name and the Think And Grow Rich franchise.
I won’t bore you any more
with the details, but bottom line, we achieved something much closer to the
“best case scenario” than the “worst case scenario”. And it resolved, once and
for all, the issue of the use of “___ And Grow Rich” in my company name and
website.
I agreed to change the name
of my company to “Trade Your Way To Wealth” from “Trade And Grow Rich”. I
also agreed to place simple disclaimers on the site that I am not associated
with nor endorsed by the Napoleon Hill Foundation.
In return, I have opened
some doors for possible future joint ventures with the Napoleon Hill Foundation.
After all, I really do want to do whatever I can to get this body of knowledge
out to as many people as possible for their maximum benefit.
OK, now here’s how this
change will turn out to be beneficial for Members of my new Trade Your Way To
Wealth website.
For one thing, we plan to
broaden our scope to include more avenues of wealth-building. This will
eventually include not just all aspects of trading, but perhaps real estate
investing, starting your own company and /or website, making money on the
Internet, etc.
And we will also be working
on bringing you the latest and greatest information on how to KEEP your wealth
after you acquire it.
In that area, we will be
reviewing some of the highest quality agencies to provide wealth-retention
strategies in the areas of Living Trusts, forming your own Corporations,
Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, etc.
Finally, we will be
providing some ways to simply ENJOY your wealth. This may include exotic
vacation/seminar packages, adventure trips, etc., with the added value of being
able to write these adventures off as taxable deductions.
Bottom line, I have never
been more excited about the future of our company and the possibilities of
positively affecting so many people’s lives!
